I thought Japanese students were industrious

But when I visited in JAPAN, there are many students who do not studey at all, and quit school early.

I think people around the world evaluate Japan too high then we know

Not every kid in Japan is on the college-bound academic track. Not every kid even goes on to high school.

And if you're talking about college kids, the work is pretty much over once they pass the entrance exams. After that there's a four year lull while they wait for the diplomas to be printed.

Depends on the school, go to a public high school and its not unusal to see people not studying in the least. Visit a private high school and they have no life outside of study.

Go to a college/uni and they dont do any study :P

ya country you go to around the world there there high school life is not very diff. not alot of ppl in america like to study as well in this case japanese people dont like it either. But if you go to privite schools its always alot different i think its because of the parents if they really want there child to succeed then they will prob. crack down on them and make them study all the time.. me i never really studied kinda wish i did so my gpa would be a little higher.. oh well i guess seinor year is my time to crack down at my last classes before college

I, too, wish that I had studied, well, at all in high school, or even college. Unfortunately I managed to get by without much studying throughout my entire scholastic career, and as a result I never developed good study habits. My work ethic could also use some work. But hey, no point in lamenting the past, right?

Public school = win. The students have alot more free time so its easy to organise to do things.
