You shouldn't hide behind a German flag. The drift of your post becomes clearer after having established that you are obviously from Korea (not implying that all Koreans share your views on Japan!).

PS: I have updated your country flag in order to reflect your location.

Having just browsed at our friends previous posts, it does appear he/she does have a negative bias towards Japan, that being the case it is quite surprising such a person would frequent a japanese orientated forum.

As for #1: the filthiest toilet I have seen in Tokyo so far was near Tsukiji wholesale market. Still, impeccable and sterile in comparison to most European public toilets, lolol. However, I have to admit I am not well acquainted with Korean public toilets.

Number 2 is probably a "It's there if you look for it" type of thing but they do seem to sell sick stuff that they wouldn't be able to get away with in the UK (TTBOMK). I'm thinking particularly of the 'adult manga' market.

It's sort of interesting that a guy from the country that brought us the Reverend Moon gripes about Japanese cults.

2)errrm some what true

3)maybe where you live its true

4)are proud of world war 2? i think its the oppasite most japanese hide thier identiy esp. in front of koreans and chinese ~_~ i sometimes do that >_<

as for brainwashed, yes thier schools are more drills then actually thinking sooo....i guess this is true

5)omg you got it right illl give you 100ten for this one!!!

6)and they say japan is the safest place in the world to live......???
maybe you shouldnt be such a gaijin and go arround with your arrogant attitude and getting into fights, i heard lots of stories about that
, be humble

7)do you have first hand experiance or are you just saying what the media told you?

8)yes that is deffinantly true in the cities i mean these tokyo business men dont care if a guy on a wheel chair is trying to get on the train, they just swarm the front door!!! me first me first!!! capitalism sometims makes me sick

but it is very differnent in the rural areas ^_^

Oh well, this just sounds like the common bashing you can use from people who never been in Japan and thinks they know everything about it

Ok some comments due to my experience in Japan and experience of other people there :

1. Looks like we all agree, Japan's public toilets are not the worst in the world ... as Rock said, come and visit Belgium's public parks, we can discuss after.
2. It's not true, it's just that somehow they hide that fact less that other countries (i.e. puritan US).
3. That's bullshit. It's just what all otakus in the world thinks. Of course some girls are like that, but not the majority. If it's like you say that all westerners are fond of asian girls (or are you just jealous ).
4. I don't think they are proud of it, it's just that it's still a shame for them. But I think that they didn't have the same after-war as Germany for example ... Their Emperor (Hiro-Hito) stayed on the throne after all ... Whose fault ??
5. Yeah right ... as said in other topics, Tokyo is the most expensive town in the world .. but i can tell you that it's possible to live there without spending too much money. Well of course, if you buy only Armani's clothes in Ginza ...
6. Hmmmm yeah that's right .. Tokyo is VERY dangerous ... Maybe because all the japanese girls jumps on gaijin every footstep they take ??

7. No comment about that ... oh yes one ... don't you think that catholic religion isn't crazy ??? Some believe that a guy came back from the grave and turned water in wine .. wowowowowow.
8. Well, the "loudlyness" is common to asian people i've heard (from an asian girl) so maybe you are one of them No offence

smartguy1, frankly, have you ever left Korea ? Do you realise how indoctrinated you have been regarding points 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 (because there is really not much difference with Korea, and I have been there and have Korean friends) and especially about point 4, as many younger Japanese are ashamed and blush or look down everytime I have to remind them about WWII (especially if they didn't think I knew some distturbing facts they don't learn at school, but know anyway).

As for the last point (5), you should look at Seoul and compare salaries and the cost of life there to that of Tokyo. At less than half the salary, houses/apartments are almost as expensive in Seoul (sometime more) than in Tokyo !

Cost of things vs. average wages is the only way to determine living costs. Things here are cheap but wages are low, but friends in the Uk say things are more expensive there but they have better wages. It all balances.

As a fellow Korean, I am ashamed that you would say such things in public as it paints all Koreans as ignorant buffoons. If you really want to put Koreans in a more positive light, please refrain from making such comments.

1. I don't know about this. I have never been to Japan. But I will tell you that Canadian public washrooms (in parks, etc.) are not germless areas also.

2. Perhaps I will not understand some of the fetishes that some Japanese people have over there (like men buying used girl's underwear), but you'll find all sorts of crazy stuff around the world.

3. Okay, this is way too much of a stretch. Perhaps a more accurate statement would be that some Japanese girls like whites and some Japanese people are only nice to white people. (If Japanese girls only wanted white guys why are we still seeing intra-racial marriages in Japan? Why aren't Japanese girls flocking into North America and Europe to find that eligible bachelor. Your generalization is just plain stupid.)

4. Uhh...no. I have a Japanese friend who likes to avoid talking about what happened in World War II. Btw, did you know that just after Korea was liberated by the Allies that the South Korean government massacred it's own people in Cheju Island? Did you know about that? Why do we always complain about Japan but hardly ever talk about our own misdeeds?

5. Okay. If that is so, go stay wherever you are.

6. So are places like Seoul, Bangkok, New York, Los Angeles, London, Sydney, Paris, etc. What's your point brother?

7. You'll find crazy cults around the world. You know, like Reverend Moon's cult.

8. So do Koreans, Chinese, and most Europeans. The only "quiet" people tend to be English speaking groups (i.e., Americans, Canadians, Australians, etc.). I also don't know how speaking loudly has to do with a lack of courtesy. It's mainly cultural. Have you ever been to a Korean restaurant and been around those fobs? Boy, you can hear their conversations even if you're like three booths away. Does that mean they just don't care about others? You tell me.

You know, perhaps you should change your nick to "ignorantguy1" cause you obviously don't have a clue to what you're talking about. If you have anything positive to contribute to this forum then share those. If not, go form your own forum on how "screwed up" Japan is.

Man, when I was in Jordan a few years back, I had the misfortune to have the necessity of using a public toilet, I don't know how they did it but there was excrement about 4 foot up the wall. Got to be the filthiest loo I've ever seen. Gross.
