talkin 'bout Osaka

Hey guys,
kind of a vague topic, but I want to hear about Osaka! My friends and I found a flat in Osaka, but I don't know too much about Osaka. I know it has an awsome castle, it's the second largest city in Japan, but other than that I don't know anything, really. What's the english teaching job availability like? what are the girls like? the night life? The key attractions? Are there alot of temples or is it more high tech? Or somewhere in the middle? Please leave any information that you can in relation to Osaka!

thank you all

Food is great.
People walk very fast. (Osaka people are the fastest walking people in the world)
Public transportation is well established.
Girls are friendly and speak "kansai-ben" (dialect).
Living cost is as expensive as any city like Tokyo.
There are more modern buildings than ancient architecture.

Night life? You have to see it yourself...

You wouldn't be bored in Osaka if you like being in a really busy city.

Has anbody watched Azumanga Diaoh? In the first episode they have all these jokes about Osakans. Osaka is meant to be really cool but I was told by my japanese friend that most japanese regard osakans as beong weird because they speak a different dialect and all these other things.

They are just having fun in Azumanga. I've got many many friends from Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Himeiji etc, that general area, they are great people, very friendly and have a great sense of humour. Nothing weird about them at all (well, if they want to make things hard they can speak with a heavy 'accent' )
