Japanese researchers advance robotics

Japanese researchers appear to be increasing robot technology at a rapid clip. Honda's cute, four-foot-tall ASIMO robot is designed to be non-threatening and people-friendly. Honda has now upgraded the machine so that it can recognize faces and call out people's names. Honda will rent out this machine, and will undoubtedly improve it further.

OT:
Does anyone know if it's true whether Will Smith will star in the motion picture of the Asimov-novell "I, Robot"?
