Difference?

What is the difference between the Japanese for Busy People books and the Kana books? Also, if I am new and stuff what combination should I get?

I am thinking about getting the following.
Japanese For Busy People 1
The Cassette Tapes
The Workbook
English Teacher's Manual

Do you guys think that the Workbook cassettes are neccessary? I might get CDs pending on price!^^

The kana only version is just that; the Volume 1 lessons contain no roumaji but no kanji either. If you are self teaching, you'll need the cassettes.

Get the kana only version. Roumaji is like training wheels; it should be thrown out as soon as possible.
