No. of crimes in Jan-Nov period hits new high

The report found that serious crimes, including murder, rape and arson, rose 2.9% from the same period last year to 20,354, while the police arrested or questioned suspects in 51.3% of the cases, down 2.4 percentage points.

Cases of domestic violence involving murder or injury also increased. The number of cases rose 15.1% from a year earlier to 1,536, the report said. It said that in 90% of the cases, men were responsible for the abuse.

So the police finally decide to look a bit deeper for what's going on in their country.... or is it the people who report crimes more easily now ?
