www is deadly
Online suicide. Btw, a similar thing has taken place in Europe a couple of years ago.
Trio who met through suicide Internet site kill themselves Two women and a man in their 20s who died from carbon monoxide poisoning earlier this month in Saitama Prefecture after coming to know each other through a suicide web site had recently appeared to be worried about their future, their acquaintances said Wednesday. Police said earlier in the day the two women were missing since early February and one of them was mentally unstable. The three, all unemployed, were found dead Tuesday afternoon inside an apartment in Iruma, Saitama Prefecture. According to people in the neighborhood, the apartment is about 1 kilometer from Musashi-Fujisawa Station of the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, had been vacant for more than a year. => http://www.japantoday.com/e/?content...at=1&id=249132 Three Japanese suicides linked to Internet => http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2...-suicide_x.htm

Not to make light of the situation, but if they have nothing better to do with their lives than to follow the instructions on a suicide site, then they have no appreciation for life and living to begin with, regardless of their problems, and perhaps it was best to get such losers and Darwin Candidates out of the potential gene pool.....just plain stupid.....but that's my take on this activity....

I already hinted at that "lemming case" in which an Austrian teenager got acquainted to a guy from Norway. They and another person who changed his mind subsequently, planned to jump from a cliff in Norway. Well, they actually did, hand in hand. Weird.

Why does the media always use the internet as a scapegoat? Those three people could have just as well met in a bar or at school.
Internet is such a common way of communication these days, but yet the media still treats it as a means to plot evil activities. |

I don't think that internet is used as scapegoat, but it certainly facilitates such activities. Anyhow, there's no way to stop that.

Maybe, Thomas, if you show them your scary, angry face in that avatar you have chosen, and tell them (the suicidal folks) that this is the face they will have to bow down to and see in their afterlife unto eternity, perhaps this will dissuade them from choosing that foolish, fatal action....
no, seriously, too bad you can't just trade the suicidal folks' life energies to the folks that are dying but want to live, curing whatever ails those that really want to live....the mind-set of many people in Japan these days is disturbing, in that the perpetrators of crimes and other stupid activities appear to be oblivious of their actions, or they just don't care......a pity also that some form of ethics are not taught in the schools, rather than merely shoving students in cram schools and attempting to get them to pass exams that have no practical merits in their future lives (other than getting into schools and colleges that no longer guarantee a job)....but that's my rant on the subject.... :P |
