According to this poster, 日英擬音・擬態語活用辞典 is good. I couldn't tell you anything about it other than that, though.

When you want J onomatopoeia in anime/game, it is rather difficult to find one.
I am aftraid that Japanese is too flexible language when it comes to onomatopoeia. Everybody can coin the words...
It was an interesting program about Japanese that asked people how you described the sound when you'd open a canned juice. The answers were so different among people.

A book with the standard thousand or so would suffice.
