By request of Tony McTojo, I bring the charge of aggravated insult of the Grannies against him here. McTojo is free to defend himself as to the various points brought against him as he had wished in an independent thread. How do you plead your case McTojo ?

I see nothing wrong with going to China, paying some poor uneducated Chinese women fifty yuan for a lay.

In Japan, the sex industry accounts for 1 percent of the GDP which is more than the Defense Budget ! We owe this to countries like China, Korea and the Phillipines . It's people like these women in the story that keep the night life going, thanks for the charity.

Therefore, when Tokyo's high court strikes down a class action law suit brought about by comfort women I rejoice.

The grannies of Korea, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, India, Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Netherlands, and Guam who were forced to unwilling sex for Imperial Japanese Army, Navy, military attaches, and labourers for the IJ war effort during WWII accuse Tony McTojo Karakakawa for acts of violence that violated in a symbolic way the basic rights of the victims of military rape and forced sexual labour.

The current estimated statistics of the victims of IJ's "Comfort Women Policy" numbers in the range of 80,000 to 150,000 according to the joint history project by scholars from Japan, Korea, and the PRC. Wikipedia on comfort Women lists the old figure of 20,000 to 30,000, reflecting the low level of academic attention to the subject, and the prevalance of Japanese scholarship working towards diminishing the magnitude of IJ's criminal practices against women and humanity in general.

The WOMEN’S INTERNATIONAL WAR-CRIMES TRIBUNAL ON JAPAN’S MILITARY SEXUAL SLAVERY (or the Tokyo Tribunal) is a people’s tribunal organized by Asian women and human rights organizations and supported by the international NGOs, to hear the cases of sexual slavery and other crimes involving sexual violence committed against the women by Japan. Historically, hundreds of thousands of young women in the Asia Pacific region were raped or either deceived or abducted to become comfort women for the Japanese Imperial Army during the Second World War. The women were held prisoners for periods ranging from one week to more than four years.

After the Second World War, sexual violence committed by the Japanese Imperial Army was hardly prosecuted by the International Military Tribunal for the Far East (The Far East Tribunal) as set-up by the Allied Forces. An exception was the Batavia (Indonesia) Trial where the case of 35 Dutch women who had been victimized in Indonesia, brought their case against 12 Japanese Army officers at the Batavia court. Charges were made on the grounds of having committed war crimes and in defiance of the laws and customs of war, in the Dutch East Indies in 1944. One of the accused was condemned to death and others were sentenced to imprisonment ranging from two to 15 years. That was the only trial in history that gave justice to the comfort women. Today most of the comfort women are still denied of such justice.

Hence I find it subhuman for Tony McTojo Karakakawa to ridicule the victimised grannies of WWII and making fun of them in public. Do you not have a grandmother McTojo ? How can you not sympathise a rape victim and where do you find the savage daring to side with the rapists by policy ?

Thank you for your support in the cause of justice, Mike and Index. I just wanted to note that the defendant be given a chance to correct the verbal abuse by admitting to the fact that what he had said was inappropriate. I did not begin this thread to either humiliate him or to get him banned.

It is very important to keep in mind that he is a troll and it is his entire purpose to stir up a stink on JREF. Since it was his intention to do so, one shouldn't expect that he would care to correct the abuse. Or that if he did the correction would be any more sincere than anything else he has ever posted here.

McTojo - you said in the other thread you have nothing to apologize for. Until this point I thought you were - lets not say "troll" per say, but a provocateur, you had some interesting things to say - though lacking the facts to support your ideas - but in general got some interesting topics started. While others gave you a big helping of bad rep, I didn't feel you were being horribly insensitive. While I agree with Mikecash at this point, I want to be optimistic and give you a chance.

You need to take this chance to qualify what you posted. It is fully possible to hold the position that compensation is not justified, but you need to explain why and do so in a sensitive way.

If others wish to debate the issue with you, I hope they will do so.
