also consider that it could be the traditional form of the Chinese yue\le meaning music\happy (much the same).

Can you tell us more about where you found it? Does it appear with other characters?

it is actually just a symbol on a dog tag i baught at a local mall. I thought it looked pretty cool and it was the only kanji they had, the picture shows the whole thing, anymore info??
