Scene question..

I was just curious because I am planning on possibly moving to Japan in the near future and was wondering how the Drum&Bass scene is down there? If anyone that lives in Japan or has been there could help me it would be much appreciated.

I have no idea if there even is such a scene.

When I very quickly glanced at your question, my eyes played a trick on me and I thought "Drum&Bass" said something else. Have you ever thought about what those letters can be rearranged to spell? (with the "&" and one letter left over, though)

Is it that stuff masquerading as music that comes booming out of cars driven by people whose inner child siezes on this particularly obnoxious means of crying out for attention?

Or is it something else?

Mos definately something else. I think what you are thinking of might be happy hardcore and I do believe there might be a HHC scene there. At least I know there are Japanese HHC producers. *shrug* Um...well...how's the electronic dance music scene then?

My understanding is that the club scene is relatively depressing, and illegal drugs guarantee a foreigner jailtime and/or a one way ticket out of the country (since when I hear DnB I tend to think rave, figured I'd give you the heads up)

Why are you planning to move to Japan in the near future?

That's what drum&bass sounds like. ^^

Nice Gaijin: I'm currently in the air force and want to get stationed there. I understand about the illegal drug use laws and don't plan on doing any since "I'm currently in the air force" and also am over that little phase. Was just curious as to how it was down there because I'm slowly learning how to DJ and was maybe wondering how hard it would be to get a gig. That is all. Thanks for your help.
