Help with kanji, please?
Hello!
I'm new here and I need some help. I have this old pendant with a character on it. It looks like kanji, but unfortunately I know little about it. I've tried looking it up but I can't find anything. The person who gave it to me doesn't know what it means either. I'd really love to find out though. Can someone out there help me identify it? Here's a picture of it: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...ey/pendant.jpgArigato!

The kanji šæ is an old style of Žõ.
Žõ/šæ means long life, also something to be celebrated. I think that the pendant is not Jaspanese, but Chinese, though. They seem to have a custom to wear something with the letters/words meaning good fortune to bring good luck to them.

in Japanese, it's pronounced kotobuki; but I agree with undrentide about it likely being Chinese, where jade jewelry is much more common.

Thank you so much, guys! I've no idea where it came from, so it may well be Chinese.
Again, thanks for the help!
