So you can speak a few words of Japanese and automatically you're an authority according to your friends. Then they start asking you if you can translate some chinese characters for them.
Yes, I'm talking about me Unfortunately the writings my friend gave me aren't making any sense to me so I'm wondering if somebody can help me out I was thinking it might as well be Chinese, but I'm not sure. I've tried to look up the characters in kanji dictionaries and some chinese character dictionaries, but I can only find the third one and I already knew the meaning of that one. I'm suspecting it might be a name, but I'm not sure about that as well. Here's the picture with the characters: ![]() If anybody can help me out with this problem I would be very grateful. What does it mean? And which kanji are used?

It says "Yamada Toshiyuki", and it's a Japanese male name.
Yamada is a very common family name here. 山 - yama 田 - da 寿 - toshi 之 - yuki |
