As we knew,Japan and Germany were vanquished nations after WWII..
They have managed to eliminate militarism, which we cannot deny.. Today, they are all democratic and powerful countries... But why Germany was generally accepted by other European countries around him....Japan is still in the troubles of the problems that caused by WWII.... Of course,Japan has many supporters in the world. But how many of these countries are just attracted by her wealth? I think, if Japan wants to be the real centre of the eastern world, she must have a good relations with asians---not only whites...

Japan lies in conflict mainly mainly with China and Russia because the Japanese gouvernment is kinda stubborn to confess the horrors that took place in Nanking for example (the Japanese-Chinese war before WW II).
Germany has had a very hard time after WW II but countries started to invest in Germany because it would the best for the European economy. China also realises that they need Japan to grow. Think about the recent visit of the Chinese prime minister in Japan. Its logic that the Chinese natives are still angry at Japan because they wont confess. But im shure there are still many people (jews) that wont forget the horrors from Germany. |

Yeah thats about it, Germany has been forced to look at what happened in WWII and live up to their mistakes while Japan hasn't live up to theirs but regardless Japan should be garnering attention from Asian and European countries because its a growing economic power.

The European has obviously paid a huge part in Germany's reconsiliation. While the rest of Europe was willing to get along for the better of all. Japan failed to fully apologise for their actions and still fail to do so.
Germany has looked long and hard at what they have done and have apologised for their actions, while wounds still exist in Europe you would pretty much say Germany is all put accepted. While I can't fully back up my comments with proof on this part (except from a few Japanese friends) Japanese history books at school fail to reveal the horrors the Japanese goverment made. Most certainly not going to go down with it's near neighbours. Don't exepct any "real friendship" EU like style anytime soon. The China - Japan debate is the quitessential example of countries who won't let the past go away untill one gives in. Last edited by Arch; May 31, 2007 at 05:02. Reason: mistake |

Why China has fewer friends than Japan?
Why China has fewer political partners than Japan? |

It has most recently displaced thousands (they say hundreds) of people at random in order for the Beijing Olympic games. It threatens to turn all of Taiwan (and perhaps, though an empty threat) the united states into glass via Nuclear arms, if Taiwan is not returned to the mainland... Look at Amnesty International's facts on China, though Japan favours not better in terms of offering Asylum, which is a shame. Why do people look at China as a trading partner? A billion or more possible consumers... Though, when you take into account rural provinces, that number has to be much much lower. What was the last nation/group to threaten the united states with Nuclear action? Terrorists....? Though I hate to use that term lightly. |
