does anyone out there know of a ff7 remake i know the trailer that was released for ps3 was just a tech demo but rumours keep emerging of a ps3 remake true or false???

True, you still have to wait because the support team of Square Enix (wich is located in japan and another base in the philippines) is still busy on the story line, this information came from a friend who is a die hard fan of FF and he knows all latest news about everything even about the new movie (0.0)

As I far as I know, they are remaking the original FF7. In addition to that, I saw some information about a game called FF7: Crisis Core, which seems to be a prequel to the original game. It has you playing as Cloud's friend, Sephiroth, some guy called Genesis, and the previous owner of the Buster Sword. Other characters from the original series make appearances, but for the most part it's those four.

The PS3 version of FFVII is being rumored to not be made at all so don't get your hopes up.

And about FFVII: Crisis Core, it's been said that it WILL be released for the PSP console but it's not known if it will be released in the USA.

There are 2 trailers of Crisis Core out there.

The main character is a 2nd class SOLDIER named Zack Fair. He is a friendly, social, happy go luck guy (The opposite of Cloud) and his last name "Fair" was made to make contrast with "Strife" (Cloud's last name).

Cloud also makes his appearances. He is a 14 year old ShinRa guard, and becomes friend with Zack. Cloud also idolizes Sephiroth (remember Sephiroth doesn't know the secrets of his birth, in other words, he's sane.) and wishes he could be as great as the Commander Sephiroth: a hero.

Angeal is a 1st class SOLDIER and the original owner of the Buster Sword that Cloud uses in the future. He calls himself a "monster" since he knows he was experimented on and he can also sprout wings off his back. He can be considered as Zack's friend, or as a father figure (EVERYONE is friends with Zack).

Genesis (AKA Gackt xP) makes an appearance in FFVII: Dirge or Cerberus.
There isn't much information out about him but it's said he is an experiment like Sephiroth and Angeal.

Aeris also makes an appearance and she is Zack's girlfriend. She met him because he "fell out of the sky" and inside her church. (Sounds familiar?)

We also see some other characters like the Turks, etc.

In short:

Zack is the main character that has to defeat Genesis with the help of his party. The game has shiny limit breaks, awesome graphics and effects, and a gameplay that has me "all tingly" since I found out of this game's existance.

Zack has always been my favorite character and I always thought it was a real pity he died. I would buy a PSP with the sole purpose of playing this game so I really hope it gets released.
