Shut Up American Government!

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...UQ&refer=japan
It would be good if the Japanese government apologizes........but honestly the American government should stop criticizing Japan over every human rights violation when the US itself continues to violate human rights (albeit to foreigners or not).
Why can't the US government apologize for;
- Stealing very good land from Mexico.
- Killing Iran's democratically elected leader decades ago and installing a new Shah dictatorship there.
- For being one of the most racist nations in all of history........including treating and entire race as chattel/property (Africans).
- Banning useful crops and chemicals worldwide that have been used for thousands years (all for the oil, paper, and cotton industries.......in other words because of greedy corporate owners).
- Invading Iraq and plunging into chaos.
- Supporting the terror government of Israel.....a major contributing fact to why the Middle East hates America (even the innocent American people).
--- I can go on and on.
Bottom line is that the American government has no moral right telling other nations to apologize for every crime against humanity they have done, especially when the US government itself has hardly apologized itself for its crimes.
And Japan isn't the one causing all the wars today.....leave them alone and get out of their country American military!

I hate to jump on the, "I hate America lolz bandwagon" but I agree with you. The USA is turning into ****. I want to visit Canada, Australia, or the UK and see if I like it there, and then I'll probably consider moving to one of those countries..

Whether I agree with either of you or not matters nothing. I hope you realize that this is a forum about Japan and not for bashing the USA.

I can feel for the emotion behind the OP. I will admit that even back then, it was one reason, among the several, that further lead to my not wanting to be under the governmental system there--although I realized no place on earth would probably be any better, if even better in any way at all !! Oh for the good ole days back on Mars. . .

I moved this thread here due to its lack of being Japanese orientated. I hope you understand, Silverbackman. Thanks. MM

Actually I would consider this topic to be more Japanese orientated than American.

First the Japanese beat the Russians in the Russo-Japanese war but T. Roosevelt ends up giving less of the pie to the Japanese after signing the treaty. And it is pretty obvious why (and yet Theadore Roosevelt is always hailed as a hero).

Because the Japanese were unjustly screwed in the *** by America.........their superior permissive culture came under attack. FDR provoked the Japanese.......there was no reason to ally against them anymore so than allying with Joseph Stalin's USSR. Were the Stalinists and the British so much better than the Nazis and the Japanese?

And since then the Japanese have become soft and even submissive to the US (ie letting the US limit their military size while America itself continues to build up as if it was the Mongol Empire).

i dont think that you realize you sound like an uneducated ***** saying things like that. especially since many countries out there are a billion times worse. At least the americans have good intentions, which is more than i can say for a lot of supposedly "civilized nations" out there. And before you trash talk israel why don't you visit, iran or saudi arabia and see how long you survive without protection.

Well it isn't that I hate America or the American people (of which I belong to).......though I wish more Americans wake up to the fact that if America continues down this path, their fascism will be greater than even that National Socialist Germany. But I do hate the American government as I do all coercive governments. Most politicians should be hanged for treason destroying this country and turning it into a police state.

Under Tony Blair the UK is becoming the America's pet dog.......but I have a feeling that the British people will rise up and stop their government before anything happens. Afterall Britain is the land where the father of liberalism; John Locke lived. Then again America has the legacy of Thomas Jefferson but this still doesn't seem to effect anything in D.C.

And your point is? Yea there are many countries that are worse than America......but difference of course is that America is that every harmful thing it does harms the rest of the world. Why did the freedom-loving American government install the shah in Iran right when the elected a head of government democratically? This of course is blowback, and is followed by a religious fundamentalist movement. Why did the American government ever even think of something as hideous as Operation Northwood (thankfully Kennedy vetoed the bill......not sure whether Nixon would have done the same).

Ever seen the Conspiracy of Silence? Why doesn't the American government apologize for the members that bought young boys and used them as sex slaves? What right does America have telling Japan to apologize for its sex slavery when such a thing happened in the US with politicians suppressing this info.

I get your point. But its not only Japan that america tells what to do and how to live. Sorry if your disappointed but if your looking to Britian to stand up and break free your be waiting for a long time. Blair did pay off the dept from WW2 and seemed to try and make some distance from america but now Brown is the PM in charge and as of yet there isnt a change in political stance. The British people wont stand up against the government either, we are the most taxed in europe..maybe even the world and although everyone moans nobody actually does anything. So dont expect too much.
Many things you have said are true like americas undying love for israel no matter what. I dont know how truthful it is but when i was young everyone would tell me "the jewish run america". While america has done a lot of good things in the world i dont think they are quite ready to tell the world how to live. Its funny how anyone who speaks bad about the Us is either evil or crazy...or even both haha but in todays world alot of people are saying negative things about the government and if saying that makes me sound like an uneducationed ***** then im sure ill survive.

PS my neighbour is in Saudi on holiday now and she is surviving quite nicely ^-^

During history this always was the case. Huge kingdoms, empires, civilizations were always spat upon like this. Although America is a selfish bastard, but please folks, let us admit, America's doing what pretty much any other western or asian advanced country would do in America's case. When you're running a country you can't bloody feed your people good intentions, when will people realize that?

Right, shut up, American government! Your moral authority on the international stage has eroded to the point of hypocrisy!

Turkey Warns US on Armenia Genocide Bill
ANKARA \ Turkey's president warned the U.S. government Tuesday that their longtime ties will be harmed if Congress passes a resolution putting the genocide label on the mass killings of ethnic Armenians in Ottoman Turk lands during World War I.

Right, it's settled then -- America sucks. I applaud everyone's efforts for bringing the U.S. down. Why don't we print off this thread and mail it to all the government big-whigs in Washington? After reading this they'll be sure to commit seppuku so we can rise up and make America how we want it!
Ok...so that last paragraph was a joke, but I wanted to take this opportunity to set a couple of your facts straight...

First of all, Britain was also involved in this. In reality, it was the British Intelligence Service that tried to persuade Truman to overthrow the PM but were unsuccessful. However, they managed to persuade Eisenhower to overthrow Mossadeq. Secondly, the U.S. DID apologize for this. In 2000, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright issued an official U.S. apology to the Iranian people. And, the U.S. did not kill the PM. Mossadeq was sentenced, by the Shah, to three years solitary confinement in a military prison followed by house arrest for life.
Just out of curiosity, how - in you opinion - should the U.S. apologize for these offenses? And to whom? For some, the answer is obvious. To apologize for slavery obviously the government would address the African American population. But how? Would a written apology be enough? How about a speech? Or would material apologies be more suitable i.e. money such as the case with the internment of Japanese-Americans?

Just a final note, here is a list of what are considered to be current major wars: http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita...war/index.html
Out of those, there are only four in which the U.S. has started. Some of those might be dated, but you get the idea.
Please don't take this as a personal attack on you. It's just an attempt to continue a thoughtful discussion with opposing viewpoints .
P.S.
I am curious by what you mean by this statement:

Are you referring to the Japanese culture? Funny, I think you earlier mentioned the U.S. being one of the most racist countries in the world...
