Dooms day.

Here we are. There is No More Petrol..well, not enough...so think just what will happen to the use of: the oven, the fridge, not to mention the washing machine....The world is falling a part..not to be tragic but is madness not to realize this...So instead of crying for the lost paradise, it's better to get ready and get organised. Is it possible that the modern man so evoluted, can't live without the excess of progress? This is not a new age philosophy or anything religious...but the reality. In the next 20 years we will have to reduce every comforts e consume, there won't be enough energy, gas and petrol for everything and everyone. Time to learn how to live without it. We can all carry on living in denial and keep buying cars and electrical gadget, but there are signs of a recession.

This year 2008 the price of petrol will rise and not everyone will be able to afford it. Therefore the price of electricity will rise and the transportation will slow down a lot. So who and what would transport the food and stuff to the stores if there is no more petrol?

In 2010 there will be a big economical crisis and many shops will close down, the number of unemployed people will increase and there will be a lot social conflicts such as the anger of the poor and of the terrorism that always get worse in this kind of situation..

In 2012 there will be a huge hurricane in New York and in Tokyo the big earthquake, indeed the Stock Exchange will be destroyed and the dollar will lose much of the value , there will be a collapse just like the one in the 1929. MONEY wont have anymore value and meaning.

While it is inevitable, I think it doesn't necessarily have to happen that soon.
And even if it will occur that early, we will make it somehow.

This is a good film about how the finance market works. Its called money as debt. How we started using money in the first place. The reason why international bankers have so much power as they have now.

Well, money was used as a replacement for gold but things went out of hand when banks started prining money which was not a replacement for gold.

You're too pessimistic. There are other kinds of energy other than petrol. For example, nuclear energy, wind, solar energy, etc. People will have to learn how to use these kinds of new energies. That's the issue.

And yet another theory laden with assertions with absolutely zero facts behind them. Bravo sir.

Throw in a couple of videos from google (made by some joe who nobody has heard of presumably, hard to tell when the link is broken), mix in a couple of newspaper articles stating (shock) that petrol is a finite resource and will run out at some point in the future and an essay by some bozo who writes for a fishing magazine and we'll be all set for proof, won't we?

Its a conversation starter. Instead of ridiculing it come with points why it is not so. Like everyone else has. You are not very venemous are you? Attack the argument instead of the person. Take it as a friendly advice. Cheers.

Haha, wrong, wrong. Some people are here to discuss things, some are here for the hell of pestering others, and some are here for both. Frustration, hate and such can be considered emotional fuel just like any other feeling, like positive stuff such as amazement, love, whatever.
So yeah, you must use every opportunity for a nice flame war.

I and others have done so elsewhere (your tasteless 9/11 conspiracy topic) and the points were soundly ignored. If you wanted to post a conversation starter try putting a question mark in somewhere instead of wording it as a statement to be disproved; which incidentally I did (if you noticed) by attacking your utterly fallacious argument, albeit in a sarcastic way.

If I were attacking you then you would have known about it, as it was I was going for the jugular on your rather feeble (IMO) logic.

How have you managed to successfully hold your views this long with such a thin skin?

Some people here are already switching to biofuel. Apparently it's not that hard to do, although I only know about it second hand.

There are 4 different possibilities.

Global warming is true

1. Take action
2. Don't take action

Global warming is false

1. Take action
2. Don't take action

Globa Warming is False. Concequences

a)If we take action and find out that global warming was false then we as people have wasted alot of time and energy and money. We could have an economical depression.

Global Warming is True. Concequences.

b) If we don't take any action and find out the global warming was true. Then there would be floods, storms and the consequences would be even worse than concequense a.

As long as the consequences are worse of not taking any actions than taking action we should take action.

I think it is too late or we got much less time than we think. Usually people don't wake up before it is too late. When something terrible happens then people react.

Burning fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal, oil and gasoline raises the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and carbon dioxide is a major contributor to the greenhouse effect and global warming. It is not decreasing but increasing for each year.

Cows produce Methane. Cow fart is the second most significant cause of greenhouse warming, behind carbon dioxide. The sheer numbers of cows make a significant contribution to global warming.

We tend to sit down and day. We'll be able to do something or whats the worst case scenario? We point at others and say, well they'll probably find new ways of producing energy soon. While we think about doing it we don't want to spend too much time and energy on it so while we talk back and forth a major catastrophy hits the planet then we react which is already too late.

I can hunt, fish, and work my garden from sun-up to sundown. So, I'm not too worried.

I just watched a show that says that all the contrails from commercial jets actually are going to cause the planet to cool because they form at the upper levels where cirrus clouds form and cirrus clouds release energy back into space whereas clouds that form lower in the atmosphere hold heat in. That was just one mans opinion, another said he was all wrong. Anyway, were all gonna die, that's the only real truth. I wouldn't survive without modern technology, I need medication everyday...so that being said I don't worry about it.
