I do not know the exact details about what have happened and I think a lot of others also don't know a lot of details expect the persons who have been a comfort women, or a prostitution women as some OTHERS want to call it, and the ones who have been there at that time.

I also in my opinion think that we should look to the future (I know that some will say first you should close the past), but that's my opinion.

How about you own Brave New World... how about a better layout of your thread instead of just 2 sentences.

For long, I thought, an apologize would have been enough(which took the Japanese long enough). But after the last events I changed my mind.

Australia can do with their Aborigines now, we did too here in Germany and would support victims (as for Australia, my own uncle, Zeppelin family, was pleading for attention in this matter, he would have been very happy about the present sorries).
Any sorry raises credibility, any denial does exactly the opposite.

Since I know some of these comfort women myself, and so do many journalists, also japanese, that just reported, that they would speak up, if they only could (but they have the according materials). . . . . .the present japanese politics about this theme is simply disgusting, so they also say, and search for other ways. You have no idea, that the WW2 mind crime issue is already at work again in Japan in a way. Which is a major reason for one japanese Berlinale competition film about WW2 in Japan here! And that one will NOT be silenced, be sure. If so in Japan, it will simply go around the world, in all honours.

We would say in Germany, its a crime to silence them!

Yes, It was great to see the local Aboriginies faces on the day as they all looked so happy.

Compensation should now follow..

Now it is definitely Japan's turn to come clean, turn over a new page, and start a new chapter instead of running, hiding, denying, etc.

We show them all the time, how and that it works, and no one harbours bad feelings then, in contrary, but. . .

South Korean government had cheated its people without telling what Japan did for South Korea.
Disclosed diplomatic documents
And...
In 1965, Japan and the Republic of Korea signed the Korea-Japan Treaty, settling financial issues regarding colonial rule and establishing diplomatic relations.

Letter from Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to the former comfort women
http://www.mofa.go.jp/policy/women/fund/pmletter.html
Only Korean women did not take the money from Asian Women Fund only to politicise this issue. I don't know why some Korean women were criticised to take the money.

Kyoto Returnee, please enlighten me on what your government did for the women in your military brothels, mainly in the Middle East.
Also Chi65, what did your government did for the women except Jewish women. Did your government compensate French women who had to have relations with your military officers?

I chose "They should meet every single victims and apologize them with full compensation"

It seems that more people agree that WWII atrocity (war crime) by Japaneses were unacceptable!

Some Korean people know that too! However, I personally don't trust that 100%.
Whether Japanese government apologized it or not, such apology is never enough.
To tell you the truth, anybody in this world can apologize in such manner. Even I can do that if I hurt someone.
Please do not find fault with Korean government.
Japaneses started the war and you people committed colossal crime.
Even here, more people agree that Japanese governemt should meet every single victims and apologize them with full compensation whether you want to accept it or not.

I agree, Japanese governement should show gratitude to Korean victims letting the world about Japan's dark secret of the past, otherwise the descendents wouldn't have been aware of it.

it was a clear reckoning as bright payment for their service
I think tipping was lack though many gifts were given to them by soldiers who had received "comfort bags" from home.

It's obvious. However, Japanese government are so busy concealing their past history. Anti-Japanese protest in Korea and in China are being worsen, and Japanese government keeping concealing the past criminal.
But in reality, Japanese governors falsely accusing Korea and China;s claim as irrelevant anti-Japanese promotion. They reversely brainwash other nations Koreans and Chineses as liars.

Seriously, nobody in this world really trust Japanese goverment nowaydays after Japanese governors as well as Prime Minister keep worshipping at Yascuni Shrine.

Even if Japanese government fully compensate to the victims, they will erase their past war crime history in their history book. That's why people in Korea and China don't trust Japanese government.
