Hachiko: A Dog's Story

A drama based on the true story of a college professor's bond with the abandoned dog he takes into his home.

This heartwarming true story is an American adaptation of a Japanese tale about a loyal dog named Hachiko. This very special friend would accompany his master to the train station every day and return each afternoon to greet him after work. Sadly his master departs one day, passes away and never returns to the station. Hachiko faithfully returns to the same spot at the station the very next day, and every day for the next nine years to wait for his beloved master. During his daily visits, Hachiko touches the lives of many who work near and commute through the town square. He teaches the local people love, compassion and above all unyielding loyalty. Today, a bronze statue of Hachiko sits in his waiting spot outside the Shibuya station in Japan as a permanent reminder of his devotion and love.

This film is scheduled to release in 2009 (this year). But I don't know the exact details.

The world will understand that the Japanese Love Dogs, while we are whaling.

Hollywood may seek another hit as they enjoyed a success of "Eight Below", which was based on the Japanese story & its flim (Nankyoku Monogatari)

I assume ...... American people are getting tired of their hard life (tough competition in business, endless wars, internal/external conflicts, etc.), and therefore, people do not show their interests in typical Hollywood movies anymore, focusing on "HERO", "Rambo" or similars.

So, I suggest Americans to watch those warm heart films, based on the Japanese true stories.

I don't know why Hollywood has to fictionalize a true story. The actual story is just fine.
