Just like any nation you care to name, some people do, some people don't. Japan has a reputation on this issue, but I would say the US (because that is where I am from) is just as bad. But in the hyper- P.C. social environment of America, you don't come across it as much.

On a side note, NHK and the media have been doing a lot or stories recently on international relationships. They are not that common here, and the oublic has an interest in how people end up in them. However, the media's slant seems to be that this it is a good thing (I agree) and Japan should be happy it is becoming more diverse.

I think the important point is that both must really love and trust each other, regardless of race, religion or nationality. Both must like each other, else will never work.

So interracial relationships are becoming more acceptable? How does this hold up for interracial children being raised in Japan? How are they viewed/treated? (The main reason I'm asking is because a character for my manga has a native Japanese mother and an African American father. I wanted to show a little diversity in my manga.)
