hi-ho minna-o! anyone else like Pizzicato 5? I found thier CDs in my local music store, i was SHOCKED but i bought 3 of thier cds, and they're al together very solid Mod- style cds. thier music id very soothing and make very good background music ^.^ (more so than like singing music, its very stylish sounding, I'd play it at upscale parties xD)

They used to play Pizzacato 5 on MTV2 over here.
I'm not really a big fan of their music tho =P

Pizzicato 5 were the initiators of the well known Shibuya sound.
The band actually started out with five members, but by the time they made it big in the rest of the world, they were thinned down to producer Konishi Yasuharu and singer Maki Nomiya. The band has disbanded now, but the two members still produce quite some new material. Maki Nomiya has released three solo albums and Konishi Yasuharu does a lot of remixes and productionwork for other artists. He produced the latest Kyoko Fukada album for instance and you can find a lot of singles these days containing a Readymade remix. Anything that says Readymade comes from Konishi Yasuharu. Awsome! yeah i was sort of wondering why they called themselves Pizzicato 5 when All I kept sings was the two of them xD I was sorta miffed though, on the one CD i bought I was hoping to get the vocal version of "Darlin of Discotique" but it came with the instramental version only. but still, very very good songs ^.^

I love Pizzicato Five. Their music is very catchy, and it's just ear candy. Yasuharu Konishi and Maki Nomiya make a talented pair.

I couldn't agree more. Pizzicato Five are pure genius. They've made so much material, it's so diverse and yet so good. To me they are _the_ band. It's a shame they split but nobody can keep going forever I guess...

Wow... Pizzicato Five are the best... they are truly one of a kind.
Some of my fav. songs (aside from everything Hachiko listed) are: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Barbie Dolls Curcuit no Musume (feat. Puffy) Disco Love Lupin III Spell Bound/Ice Cream Meltin' Melow African Queen And yes... I cry myself to sleep everynight because P5 broke up ... But I think Yasuhiru Konishi is still doing the odd solo work here and there.His remixes of the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back", and James Brown's "Sex Machine" (both under the Readymade label) are sheer genius

![]() I tried to order some of their records through a website that is selling cdエs etc. on the net (have been hunting for them), but after a few months they sent me an e-mail that they canエt receive those from matador rec.. So, no cdエs for me then..

I'm not much in Japanese music, but I love Pizzicato Five. Unfortunately, I found only 1 CD in Croatia (Playboy & Playgirl) and it's goooood!

I love P5...
my mom listens to them a lot so when I was a kid (which wasnt too long ago) I used to borrow the CDs all the time. Happy End Of The World is my favorite of theirs...
