Seeing your post is shown as 11-03-04 should give you a hint. ;-)

I've always thought US date format is pretty stupid. I prefer
yyyy-mm-dd
because that way it sorts in the correct order even in text format.

Looks plausible - however the series Meteor Garden isn't Japanese so 流星花園 is presumably pronounced differently to ryuusei kaen. (n.b. note 'ryuu')
*They are all from Taiwan. -->Karera wa mina Taiwan no haiyuu desu.
Reasonable - although that's literally "They are all Taiwan Actors."
Possibly you'd be better off with 'shusshin'
出身 【しゅっしん】 (n) (1) person's origin (town, city, country, etc.); (2) institution from which one graduated; (3) director in charge of employee relations; (P)
*He is now 27 years old. -->Kare wa ima 27 sai desu.
Looks OK.

Yeah this board uses a random date generator. As you can see that was posted July 3 and your post was November 3rd. You just gotta get used to it.

I also prefer yyyy-mm-dd. What's stupid about mm-dd-yyyy? The order is written exactly as we say dates in speech. "Let's make an appointment March 4th." Perhaps UK/Europeans order of speech is different? Do they say "4th of March"? That would explain the difference. Neither way is stupid, imo. I just wish we could configure it like other boards allow. Or, if it has to be hard-coded, why not go with the Japanese format? This is a Japanese-related board after all...

For one thing if you sort it (as text) it ends up in this
01-20-1998
03-06-1997
03-10-2002
03-18-1987
03-25-1991
05-03-1986
05-16-1975
05-23-1995
06-08-1984
08-23-1992
09-11-2000
10-03-1996
11-08-1995
12-09-1995
12-24-2004
12-28-1990
sort of order.

With yyyy-mm-dd you can have useful things like
2004-03-1x (for a date between 10th and 19th)
and still have them sort into a sensible position.

For another thing having Year Month Day gives you a nice orderly progression from largest unit to smallest unit.

I already said I prefer yyyy-mm-dd and that I like it better. But does that format being better make mm-dd-yyyy stupid? Is it more or less stupid than the format this board uses (dd-mm-yy)?
