Kagerou

any fans of this j-rock band? I find they are not talked about much but I find them to be superior to any other band in Japan. They got their big break when they were able to sing in a MUCC song and they released their first album last July and it was awesome.

I encourage you to check them out... this site has some good songs in the downloads section. Peace.

I despise Kagerou, because they are of the exact same ilk as MUCC and Nightmare, which is screamy 'nu-metal' kind of crap. They seriously annoy me with their makeup too; isn't anyone else tired of people looking like they tried to eat their lipstick while someone else was pulling it away from them, creating a disaster area around their mouths?

YEA! i finally agree with Illaparatzo-sama!!! i hate MUCC..and i dont like Kagerou...or w/e! . for some reason. i think most of the newer vocalists of newer visual bands are taking Kyo-sama from Dir en grey's look. its odd. but anyway! i dont like them! and that band Gagzette or however you spell it..they are the same! .....AND SHULLA TO! that guy looks alot like Kyo!! no like ...!

I actually like Kagerou and MUCC. I agree that the newer Indies bands are trying to imitate Kyo's look and sound...but most people forget that Kyo originally got his look from Kiyoharu. *shrugs* But their just trying to find their sound and if some other Jrock artist inspires them, then good for them...and as for the vocalist of Shulla, he does look like Kyo...and it's not just the makeup, it's genetics xD. As for Tatsurou, MUCC's vocalist, trying to look and sound like Kyo...uh, a definite "I don't think so" =D. MUCC came out around the same time as Dir en grey anyway, 1997.

Anyway, this thread is about Kagerou! Well, I can't argue that their sound isn't completely "nu-metal" but like all other Jrock artists, they have this traditional japanese melodic undertone that makes them better than the American nu-metal crap that we have here. I like their look too...especially Daisuke's with the little hats and suits. I mean, at least they are trying something else instead of trying to copy Kyo's look all the time =D. The make-up is creative...goes a long with the whole eroguro concept. Daisuke has an amazing voice too. *shrugs* I like them...I like MUCC and Dir en grey and Shulla and all those new Jrock Indies bands

i HAVE to tell you the truth!!! i LOVE Daisuke from Kagerou...hehehehe. but i also never heard many songs of Kagerou. But Daisuke is for shur my sweetie-pie from Kagerou.. i dont really like the others,Yuana is pretty,but not my type. And i like Daisukes perverted ways,lol,hes to kawaii. as for MUCC,i have heard them and have known them,but i admitt i dont like them much at all.
and who the hell is Kiyoharu?..o well..i love Kyo no matter who he got inspired from.

*gasp* You don't know Kiyoharu???!!!???...I was certain that Kyo-fans would know of the very guy that inspired Kyo!! hahaha...sarcasm there xD. Kiyoharu was a part of a small band called Kuroyume and now he is the vocalist of another small band called SADS xD! Erm...they weren't really small bands, more sarcasm there -_-. If you know of Kyo's outfit with the ties and blonde hair...well that he got from Kiyoharu's days as the vocalist of Kuroyume =D

Okay...going back on topic...Daisuke is great. Yuana, I have to so a bit so-so...he's a great guitarist, but I don't like his look much...but looks aren't everything ^^. Daisuke is prolly one of my favorite vocalists

It's not something I can take constantly, although I really love his work with SADS.

Kagerou was started in September of 1999 by Daisuke (ex.Fatima) and Masaya (ex.Angel Dust). The following month Yuana joined the band as their guitarist. They began activity in December 1999, but it was not until February 13, 2000 at CYBER that they actually performed together at their first live. In May, Shizumi joins the band as their drummer. By this time two demo tapes and a maxi single have been released.
On October 11th they perform a free oneman at Meguro Live Station, but after that they stop all activity. Soon Masaya leaves the band. On January 1, 2001, Kuya (ex.Clarity) joins Kagerou. Then in February they release a song on the Loop of life omnibus and a maxi single in March. However, it isn't till April 13th that the "new" Kagerou performs again at On Air West. That same day the Kagerou official fanclub is opened. They have since appeared in several onemans and have released another maxi-single on June 27, 2001. Unfortunately Kuya has now left Kagerou as of 8/25/01 and has since been replaced by the former Aioria bassist, Kazu. In September 2001, Kagerou also left the LoopAsh label and joined Lizard. They have released yet another maxi-single in Jan '02 and will be having a oneman in the huge Akasaka Blitz on Feb. 3rd.
