Which Temple/Musuem over 1,000 statues

I am pretty sure I saw an article about a Temple in Japan, very long building which had;

--> OVER 1,000 STATUES OF FEMALE GOD OF SOME TYPE


What Temple was this, and is their a hot-link I can look at ?

ugh, I just ran through the forums but I couldn't find the post that had the information of the temple that you're looking for. I'm pretty sure the post had a link to an external site.

It's late and I can't seem to remember who posted about that.

Sightseeing wise, I highly recommend Sanjusangendo. One of the most impressive temples around! Also check out Ryoanji. Nice place. Okazaki Area is also worth a visit. It has quite a few art galleries, museums, a zoo and a shrine called Heian Jingu. Basically, Kyoto has everything in terms of sightseeing. It's just the matter of what you want to see really and having enough time to do it!
