Hello everyone, my name is Ana and I'm planning to apply next year for the undergraduate sholarship programme but I have a few questions.
As you may know Mext sorts majors in different categories depending on the main field of study so you choose between physics and biology when you take the exam, physics for sciences A and biology for sciences B. However sciences A takes after engineering and sciences B mainly includes agricultural majors, but I wish to study an Earth sciences related major, most desirably Geology. Since this major strongly relates to both physics and biology, where should I put it? Or worse, does it only fit in the "others" category? If so, how high or low are my chances to be granted the sholarship considering I achieve a high score?
And second, if the second choice for a major I want to apply for is not listed in the classification (biosources), does it mean I cannot apply for it or do I just write it down under the right category (sciences B)?
Third and last, does my vocational orientation mater? During my last year of high school I studied biological and health sciences related subjects, and so says my certificate. If Geology fits in sciences A, can I apply normally despite the fact I didn't take any engineering related subjects during high school?
Thanks in advance, I will be looking forward to all of your replies.
