Hello, I am American and traveling to Japan soon. I am allergic to milk and wanted to make sure I know how to say "milk".
On the following site, they have 2 ways to say "milk":
Drinks/Japanese Phrases for Travelers
  1. gyuunyuu
  2. miruku
Which one is the most likely to be understood?
Thank you very much in advanced.

The former is specifically "cow's milk".

The latter is used for both "cow's milk" and "baby formula" as well as for figurative usages.

Is it just milk that gives you problems or is it dairy products in general. If it is all dairy products then use "nyuuseihin".
