Trying to Identify 19th Century Document Signature (with date?)

It is really hard to read handwriting, especially old one. It looks like the right two characters are "米国" (America). And some characters in the upper middle look like "ボストン" (Boston) to me. I can't read other characters. You mentioned about "the date" in this writing but I am wondering if this (the writing) is actually describing a location. Any other information about this writing?

Here is a larger image that I've altered the contrast and brightness.

Boston and America would be correct based upon the American family who originally owned the document - they lived in Boston. The only other writing on the document is in English - "Meori?", which I am thinking was added by a later family member trying to remember which Japanese visitor the document pertained to. I am not sure if that term applies to the first name or surname. It was probably also written by someone who only spoke English and was trying to write the name or word as it sounded, but not necessary how it it would be correctly translated to English by an expert.
