The Green Hornet was originally created as a radio series and comic book series. The character of Kato (as an Asian) existed for decades before the movie and everybody knew Kato was an Asian man. It would have been strange if they had not used an Asian actor to play the part. While it is very very very true that Hollywood has a long history of unfair treatment of every minority and that they even used white actors made up to resemble Asians rather than just hire Asian actors, in this one case (at least) of Bruce Lee playing Kato, they were not trying to hide the fact he was Asian.

Historically, both the Green Hornet and Kato wore masks while doing their crime fighting activities.

About three years ago, a movie called 47 Ronin was released and Keanu Reaves (Canadian native, part Chinese) played the lead Ronin. I was surprised by that casting of Reaves.

Hollywood showed what they would consider commendable restraint if they refrained from casting the other 46 the same way.

racism mostly.
anw, i wouldn't say White Girls, i'd say SOME of them are like that,
there's still few or some of them that loved us, Asians :3

Is it just me, but doesn't this strike you as a more sophisticated form of posting like we used to get years ago from that person in Korea?

If the OP really is sincere, then great, but I don't know...something just seems fishy to me.

I want to marry a White woman in the future.
I love White woman.
My dream is marriage with a white woman.
I think White woman are most beautiful and attractive.

I love white women from childhood and am not interested in a Asian woman.
Whenever white woman looks at the tall figure, white skin with blond hair and blue eye, "is beautiful like a fairy"; when "a white was the most beautiful ," admired it instinctively.
My favorite actress, model, athletes all the are white women.

And is the next dream to produce a child of the white mixed blood.

By the way I'm virginity 22 year all life.(But I'm not gay).
I think I'm short height and thin muscle compared to the White people.(I'm 5'9.5/165lbs)
But, White woman think Asian man are attractive?

Bruce Lee's first movie was not the Green Hornet. That was a 1966 TV program, not a movie.

America has a poor history of filming Oriental Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, etc.), but get your facts straight.
Mr. Moto was Peter Lorre
Ricardo Montalban played a kabuki actor in the movie Sayonara.
MASH TV series used many non-Koreans for Korean roles.
Kwai-chang Cain was supposed to be half Chinese, and Bruce Lee was supposed to have the role, but it went instead to a more Occidental-looking David Carradine.
Even an East Indian was once played by Sir Alec Guiness (A Passage to India)!
Sometimes these roles fit actors for their acting ability, sometimes just because the producers thought they all looked similarly enough that nobody would care. Wartime propaganda used caricatures for ALL races and ethnicities.

NONE of this has anything to do with your ability or chances to date a foreign woman.

Well, to be fair, the Chinese and Japanese at least are in fact indistinguishable on ethnic lines. There was a study done, hmm... at least 5 years ago, maybe a few more.

It's true that in candid photos, native Chinese and Japanese can distinguish whether the subject is Chinese or Japanese with a very high rate of accuracy. However, it turns out that if you remove all makeup, give standardized haircuts and clothing, then they can no longer distinguish (the results are the same as random guessing). I didn't save a link of the study, unfortunately, but it was in English and I believe from an American university.

Searching doesn't seem to help find that study or -any- study... all sorts of people seem to need to chime in on this topic so all I'm seeing is opinion pieces and blog posts. One of those posts though did point out how important mannerisms (both facial expression and hand gesture) are in making cultural identification, which of course would be another cultural identifier that is stripped out by doing standardized photos.

I would guess Koreans are also in the same group of indistinguishable phenotypes. Of course other nations do have distinct features (Thailand and Vietnam, for example, although for all I know those types - while distinctive - may have populations that are spread across national borders.), and certainly some smaller ethnic groups within a nation may have distinct features.

Historically yes, Westerners always portray nonwhites as ugly and white as fashion models.
However this is changing and especially the Chinese movies, K-pop and J-Rock bands

I respect a white people in not only the looks but also other fields.
I think Western European people (British, Irish, German, Scandinavian, Afrikaner etc) is the most great people.
Most of the great scientist, great inventor, great composer, great philosopher are Western European White.

I think that the Asian people is inferior.
White people think Asian people are inferior?

Is there a group of people on earth who at one time or another haven't discriminated against people who look or think differently from them? How you can call this a uniquely western trait is beyond me. There were times in Japan's history when westerners were forbidden entry into Japan. There are muslim countries who reject apostates (with sometimes deadly determination). Sub-continental Indians rejected other Indians on the basis of caste. Rejecting the "other" is a very human trait, not only a western trait. Actually, we can say that westerners fantasized about some aspects of Japan and Japanese beauty, as seen in things like Puccini's Madame Butterfly.

Maybe time to put a nail in this ridiculous thread, as the question has been asked and answered many times over. The number of inter-racial marriages both in Japan and in the US ought to serve as proof that many westerners and non-westerners find the other to be attractive.

This is a negative thread isn't it? but I can understand why these people exist. Until around 1990, I use to hear like these:
1. Japanese language sounds funny.
2. Japanese people are ugly because the eyes are slanted.
3. Japanese foods are weird because they eat raw fish.
Now those things are changing especially for Japanese food but please understand Japanese people still have inferior complex because of these.

Weren't you about 9 or 10 years old in 1990?

Sorry, I was born in 1970. I'm not female. By the way, the images I attached were deleted weren't they? That's OK. I know that was a quite rare case but, Japanese people didn't think it was rare. Still Japanese feel inferior complex because of that.

If you are a 46 year old man then why did you lie on your profile and tell us you are a 36 year old woman?

I don't know anything about your images being deleted. I have no control or input regarding things like that. You can ask a moderator about it if you wish.

It was my mistake. I'm sorry. Please forget about it.

I registered here with the facebook account which is not true profile. I made the account to be anonymous. I'm sorry about that. I leave here anyway. Good bye. Thanks a lot.

Oh god... Honestly, I think you are a very insecure person and you are using this as an excuse to be racist.

I'm 100% descendent from Japanese so I think I'm "qualified" enough to answer your question from my own experience. Since you are from Japan I think you don't know many White women. Here in Brazil I know many Asian (Japanese) guy + White girl couples. Even I have got involved with White women (only). I don't consider myself ugly at all.

I know ugly/beautiful Asians and ugly/beautiful White people. It has nothing to do with race.

Please, stop with this self-pity racism thing. It's kinda annoying. Just because YOU consider yourself ugly it doesn't mean all Asians do.

What you all should really be doing is encouraging to talk to more foreigners he come across. He is lacking in two things and if any of you haven't notice it, than your as dumber as the next person who attack him and putting him down.

I think your last sentence is interesting: White woman think Asian man not attractive?
Let's hear from "white women" if they think so and why.
I'd say forget about your fixation on the physical part of Asian men and western women.
Do something you're good at, meet up with like-minded people, and you will find someone who likes and appreciates you.
Hopefully she will have the right skin color...
This reminds me of what a friend once asked me: "Why does an Asian man in a smoking look like a waiter?"
But that's a topic for another thread...
