Shibuya is one of the most crowded place in Tokyo and the absolute capital of Japan's youth. It abounds with trendy and eccentric shopping. It is the ideal place for thousands of young Japanese to meet and go out. In addition, Shibuya is famous for its "love hotel hill", adult shops and bars in Dogenzaka.

The most famous meeting place is Hachiko's statue. Hachiko is the name of this perfectly loyal dog, owned by Professor Ueno, who waited for his master many months after he had died. The statue is just in front of the Tokyu Department Store and Shibuya station and has an exit named after it.

Shopping

Shibuya has a few regular department stores, like Tokyu and Seibu, but also miscellaneous goods department stores such as Tokyo Hands and Loft where you can buy anything from home accessories and cosmetics to halloween costumes.

Surrounding Areas:

  • Shimokitazawa (North-West)
  • Ebisu - Daikanyama (South-East)
  • Omotesando - Harajuku - Yoyogi (East)
  • Aoyama (South)
