Only a few years old and it's already a classic ! Chobits is an anime I warmly recommend to anyone who likes real-life (and sexy) scenarios. It's hard to find an anime that is so good humoured and cheerful !

If you liked Rurouni Kenshin you will love Samurai Champloo. It is the same kind of anime about young and gifted masterless samurai roaming Japan during the late Edo period. It is a bit more mature and violent than Rurouni and the quality of animation is higher.

Really good real-life comedy, with a touch of hentai thrown in to spice it up.

This is the story of a hikikomori NEET ("not in employment education or training"), a reclusive young man who doesn't work and is afraid of going out of his apartment. This is an increasingly serious problem in Japanese society, so the anime has the merits to tackle a real societal problem. There are a few episodes about group suicide, another concerning Japanese problem. It's not all dark. The story has its funny and derisory moments too. I would certainly recommend it to anyone with an interest in psychology or modern Japanese society.

Hard to make something more "Japanesy" than that. This anime is more for girls, but that is funny enough to entertain everyone. It's the kind of stupid stuff you like to watch after a hard day of work or just to kill time. Not the anime of the year, but enjoyable.

This is exactly the kind of anime I was looking for. I am not into heroic-fantasy or other unrealistic stuff. This is a "real-life" adventure-action series in anime format, and a great one with that. I wish there were more Japanese anime like this one, I surely would watch more anime. It is so violent that it was only aired during the night in Japan. If you need an adrenaline boost, you will know what to watch. Hotly recommended.

When a friend recommended this anime to me, I was reluctant at first because I thought it was just one of those light-hearted shojo anime for girls. But Nodame Cantabile ended up being one of the best anime I have ever watched, if not simply the best. It is funny, will cheer you up, and once you have started it is one of those series that you just can't stop watching until you fall asleep in front of your screen in the middle of the night.

Found this title by accident in 2009.Have watched it about 20 times.It is what I like to call my favorite Rock'n Roll samurai movie(another is Sukiyaki Western Django).Hotei Tomoyasu is simply compelling as the anti hero in this movie.If you don't know him look him up on the net.He is one hell of a great guitarist and a brooding ,menacing actor.This could be called a black comedy but that would not do it justice.Watch it and decide for yourself.

I've seen this movie 5 times and I'm still interested in it. One of Miyazaki's best movies made. It keeps you wondering what will happen next.
