If this has decent subtitles (not fudged) then this is an excellent purchase! Kurosawa is a truly INTERNATIONAL director. His native country does'nt understand him. "Ran" is a very 'noble' and moving depiction of feudal battles amongst warriors and you tend to forget whether they are Japanese or not...it doesn't matter an internationally understandable film. Good on ya Akira Kurosawa!! One of the very very few who became international like your progeny Mifune! the only Jpnese actor to become known outside.
