Hanami is set in modern day Tokyo where Jake Argand searches in the shadowy underworld of Japan's hostess scene for Jessica- a young, beautiful Australian who has disappeared.
During Jake's investigation dismembered bodies of caucasian hostesses are being found daily by police who believe a serial killer is responsible. Jessica's trail leads Jake to believe the murderer is following the way of the samurai.
Assisting Jake in his search is Maya, a Japanese hostess Jake tries to free from the Yakuza. But before he can find Jessica and stop the killings, he will learn the true meaning of samurai as well as Hanami- Japan's age old celebration of when cherry buds turn to blossom.
