In order to make this more organized and structured, I have provided explanation from reference books for each one of the answers. Answers in green are correct and answers in red are incorrect. #11: 「も」 indicates a similar quality between two things, sentences with intransitive verbs usually have subjects which are followed by 「が」
#12:
(1) 「は」 allows us to redefine or clarify some or all of the context before stating new/important information
(2) topic followed by a comment about that topic
(3) 「は」 allows us to redefine or clarify some or all of the context before stating new/important information.
#13: (1) & (2): topic followed by a comment about that topic
#14: (1) & (2): topic followed by a comment about that topic
Correction
#12:
(1) は: ok
(2) は: this is the one I got wrong: "In a negative sentence, 「は」usually indicates a comparison, emphasis or choice". It's a comparison with yesterday which was snowing. Easy to miss this one, had to infer what the first も implied in #11.
(3) が: ok
#14:
(1)「も」. I got this one wrong. The only explanation I can find is that it's considered that #11 and #14 are connected, which makes 「も」possible.
(2) ok
#15 to 17:
#15: (1) 「も」indicates that two subjects are the same or of the same kind (2) indicates the existence of something.
#16: (1)「も」indicates that two subjects are the same or of the same kind (2) 「は」as a topic marker in a negative sentence.
#17: 「は」topic followed by a comment about that topic
Correction
#15: (1) I got this one wrong. This is a stupid mistake as I misremembered that #14 was 今日 not きのう.
#16: (1) I got this one wrong. I thought that since it was also about yesterday も was required there. (2)Ok
(2) ok
#18 to 22
#18: 「は」topic followed by a comment about that topic
#19: 「も」indicates that two subjects are the same or of the same kind
#20: 「は」indicates a contrast between two topics (#19 vs #20)
#21: 「は」as a topic marker in a negative sentence
#22: 「も」indicates an addition
Correction
#18: Stupid mistake. I should've gotten that one. It was easy as #17 is related to #18.
#20: I thought we were refocusing the topic here but it seems も had precedence here to imply inclusion.
#22: I understood that sentence as: "What else is (also) blue?". I was suppose to go with: 「が」to indicate the existence of something.
#23 to 25:
#23: 「は」topic followed by a comment about that topic
#24: 「も」indicates an addition
#25: 「が」is preceded by an interrogative pronoun
Correction
#23: Stupid mistake, I missed the "too" of the translation. If I had seen it, I would've gotten it.
#26 to 28:
#26: 「は」topic followed by a comment about that topic
#27: (1) 「は」topic followed by a comment about that topic (2) 「が」is preceded by an interrogative pronoun
#28: (1) 「は」topic followed by a comment about that topic (2) 「も」lists two or more things in a similar category (3) 「も」lists two or more things in a similar category
Correction
#26: I guess this is the case of 「が」which follows a noun that is modified by an adjective.
#29: (1) & (2): 「も」lists two or more things in a similar category (3): 「が」to express need, ability or opinion.
#30: (1) 「は」topic followed by a comment about that topic (2) & (3): 「も」lists two or more things in a similar category
Correction
#30:
(1) Ok
(2) I missed the 「と」there which already expressed inclusion so 「も」wasn't necessary. The right answer was 「が」as in a typical 「は+が」construction
(3) The right answer is 「は」but I don't know why. I guess it's a refocus of sentence topic.
Conclusion
This time I got 18/30, 60%. There are at least 3 wrong answers I could've gotten if I had taken more time to carefully read. Also, there were three different particles in this one so I guess it's understandable.
