Chinese say that this kingdom belongs to China.

Goryeo, which is the origin of the name of the country today, Korea, was founded by those who wanted to continue the pride of Goguryeo. That borderline is pretty much similar to the borderline today, and the borderline of Joseon (Chosun), which is the country founded after Goryeo, is almost exactly the border of Korea today. Also, the area called Jiandao (Gando), which is where Goguryeo stood before and north of Mt Baekdu, a mountain considered sacred to Koreans, was the land of Joseon but during Japanese rule over Korea Japan sold it to China. Based on these facts, we can say that Goguryeo was truly a Korean kingdom.

What do you guys think?

To tell the truth. It's a little childish to still talk this at the beginning of 21st century. Goguryeo was an ancient country which was destroyed by ancient Chinese 1400 yrs ago. And never shows up again. From then on, Goguryeo people became Han people and live in Northeast China until now. Goguryeo were next to ancient Korean, but two nations were never united. The land you said controled by North Korean now, once belonged to Goguryeo, was owned by Chinese in ancient times. Korean only have it since about 1000 yrs ago.
You tell me, Goguryeo's descendants are Chinese now living in China. Goguryeo's land controled by Chinese for almost all of the human history. How can they be Korean?

By the way. Ancestors of Goguryeo came from China. At first Goguryeo fought with another nation of China, Wei as the name, in Northeast Asia, but they were defeated. so they moved a little further in to northeast of Asia. But Goguryeo was a huge country, only a small part of land was in Korea Peninsula. Korean were taught there were 3 kindoms in korean peninsula, one of them was Goguryeo. And dated back to the whole land owned by Goguryeo belonged to Korean history. That was naive. Just like you say some land own by Korean today, so it means these land owned by ancient Korean either. This a totally upside down logic.
Finally Goguryeo were conquered by Dynasty of Tang, and hundreds of yrs later, Korean controled the whole peninsula of Korea. Keep the order in mind.
My family lived in northeast Asia for centuries. If Northeast Asia and its history should belong to someone. They would be Mongolian and Manchu nations, not Korean.
I understand Korea want to find some good stuff from your peaceful history. But exaggerating only makes the situation even worth.
