I recently changed to UQ Mobile and discovered that the second hand phone I bought allows to watch TV on it via oneseg (ワンセグ) and I've been able to watch programes on my phone without any problems. I've also seen there's an option on the app to record programs, but every time I try to use it I get a message saying 'Failed to record'. Has this happened to anybody else? Am I missing something?

What is the model name of your phone and the name of the app?

The phone might require an SD card or similar for recording.

My phone is an HTC htl23 butterfly (HTC J butterfly HTL23 スペックとレビュー | HTC 日本 and the name of the app is 'TV'. I've got a 32gb card in + 32gb main phone memory, so I don't think space is the issue (90% of it is free) The phone is second hand and it used to be an AU phone (it has all the AU apps on it), but I don't have an AU pass or anything of the sort as I'm not using the AU's services per se.

Is your SD card CPRM compliant? The manual of the phone says 録画する場合は、CPRM対応のmicroSDメモリカードを取り付けてください。.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried changing the SD card and now it works! (sorry for the late reply)
