Hello again,

I have this, I believe, Muromachi uchigatana. I would like to identify the signature and try to verify this.
I will greatly appreciate your help in the transliteration of this mei, and of course any additional feedback you may provide would be doubly appreciated.

Thank you!

濃州関住?(could be 兼)直作
Made by (Kane?)nao in Seki, Mino Province

Hi, Totoribe
So
濃州関住兼直作
nōshū seki ju kanenao saku
sounds about right then?

Ok. Thank you again. 3 swordsmiths with this signature that I know of, 2 of them Muromachi. Once the sword is cleaner I can look closer to see if I can pinpoint which one it is. Both are kind of obscure (not the high-rated or famous smiths) so there may not be many samples of their work to compare with.
All part of the fun, right?
