SO? In Japanese

"So" in English can be translated into several different words in Japanese depending on the context.
As far as the two examples you've given, you can use "sorede" or "de".
("de" is more casual than "sorede".)

So, do you like it?"
それで、気に入りましたか?sorede, kiniirimashita ka? (polite)
で、気に入った? de, kiniitta? (casual)

"So, what happened?"
それで、何があったのですか?soerde, naniga atta no desu ka? (polite)
で、何があったの?de, naniga atta no? (casual)
