Chion-in is a temple located in the Hagashiyama district in Kyoto. Built in 1234, the original temple was constructed in memory of Genchi's master, Chion-in. The large main gates are made entirely of wood and was featured in Hollywood movies, Lost in Translation and The Last Samurai.
