If you are moving from afar, I think a modified version of "What's the best place to live?" may be appropriate. You can look at a map and transit schedules but you may not know about local traffic "flow" or daily issues.
I would agree that sending an email as soon as possible is a good idea...
I'm glad its improving but I wonder if the "children's best interests" will really be considered in a meaningful way or if it will be the same nonsense that it currently is.
BS! According to that same article they already had joint custody in Taiwan already. In my opinion this was blatant...
When accountants become more than just a time saver for filing taxes, for individuals, then the taxes are too complicated.
I am convinced that part of the reason taxes are so complicated in the US is so that tax/accounting companies can make money.
I would love to see this park but it really looks like it would be an expensive ordeal. Are they still requiring reservations with the need to reserve months in advance?
This is one of the reasons why I am not a fan of nuclear power. It's only clean if you ignore the radioactive waste, which is unfortunately what most power companies do by just shoving it somewhere to store it. It's only safe if you ignore the catastrophic accidents. :(
A $0.07 USD bag tax here, in Chicago, has resulted in a huge reduction of plastic bag use. A lot of places now have heavier-duty plastic bags, paper bags, or cloth bags available and many people use them. It doesn't seem to take a lot of extra cost to change someone's mind on them.
I'm a bit surprised that this is news. I would have thought it would have been obvious that women in Japan, as likely everywhere else, buy chocolates for themselves. Is it specifically because the valentines chocolates are meant only as gifts to others?
Or some just don't understand it and that there are many others similar to it.
The US permanent resident policy really isn't any different on these two items. Whether or not it gets enforced is another question.
Somehow I am always the target of the thrown soy beans, as well as the person responsible for picking them all up. I have noticed that the tradition, which once took place only at the entrance to the living space now included the entirety of the living space, and cleanup now takes a good 20-30...
That just seems prone to issue.
I'm surprised they didn't go the Amazon Go route and just have the scan at entrance and automatic checkout based on what you took.
Indeed, you would think developers would be all over that land. Ripping down the old house and putting up a brand new one while making a huge profit of course.
That is actually a problem here, any "affordable" houses/properties are bought up by developers as soon as they come on the market...
@Vincent3 Probably the same reasons as in the US. People don't want the stress and expense of a relationship and potentially kids. A lot of people now are just too selfish and/or self-centered to ever work in a relationship without having to adjust their mindset considerably.
