Japanese American in California, 1914 - captioned!

Hello one and all! Picked up a terrific photo for my collection of Japanese American photos. Not only is the location and year clear as day but the reverse is captioned. One of the worst aspects of collecting photos is the vast amount of material without names, dates or locations written...

    1920s Japanese Matchbook Labels, Aviation

Frank, I'm in the same boat: no children and no relatives who have any interest in what I collect. Nor sure what is going to happen to everything.

    1920s Japanese Matchbook Labels, Aviation

mdchachi, I think it is illegal to send matches through the mail. Most matchbook label collectors only collect the covers. I have a variety of covers and more modern American labels ( 1940s ) and I rarely ever see covers offered with the matches. But I see US presidential matchbooks being sold...

    1920s Japanese Matchbook Labels, Aviation

This is great information, Majestic - thank you so much. I'd never have figured this out. I tried Google translate with other labels and the translation always seems off. Frank, I had no idea such places in Japan were still using this type of promotion through the 1970s. The ones I collect...

Two Japanese prints of fishing vessels. Captioned and signed, I think.

Hello everyone! Have been meaning to ask about these two print in my collection. They both depict fishing vessels, one with a view of Mt. Fuji in the background. One has what appears to be both a signature and a caption. The second, maybe a brief caption? Any help with a translation would...
