Hi,
Thanks for the advise, I can express the idea in a simpler way with:
あの婦人が読んでいる本がすごいと思います。
As nice gaijin recommended, but, don't you think that challenging ourselves with way more complex sentences, even, beyond our current level, may help us to progress? And yes I'm still trying to figure...
Thanks,
One of my goals was to sound casual as if we were talking casually about books and the listener was distracted saying something like "books, books, ah talking about books, the one book that lady is reading is impressive", "the one (book) she is reading", becomes a noun/topic, so the...
Hi,
I'm trying to say:
"Books, the one that is reading that lady, is really impressive"
This is my approach but I'm not sure if I have mistakes:
本は、あの婦人の本を読んでいますのは、本当にすげいです。
助けてください。
I'm wondering if is there a reason to use the て form to join adjectives, I mean, why is not as simple as use the particle と (可愛いと小さいです)? Maybe is only a case where it is what it is, but I wonder if there is reason why we can't use と. Or as one member correct me in other post, we can't either use...
Hi,
I just finish studying the potential form of a verb but now I have a question, let's use the potential form of hanasu (hanaseru).
hanasu is to talk and hanaseru is to be able or can talk, that's why when asking if you speak Japanese you use nihongoga hanasemasuka and not hanashimasuka...
Thank you for the explanation, ok so tsuitachi, hatachi, hatsuka will consider them special cases that can't be expected to be read with onyomi nor kunyomi readings :) more like traditional words previous kanji was introduced into Japan.
Hi,
I just started learning kanji, probably this question is due lack of knowledge, however, I have the question for はつか (20th day of the month), which is form from 3 kanji 二十日
二 (ni, ji or futa)
十 (juu, ju, tou o to)
日 (nichi, jishi, hi, bi or ka)
How comes that together they form the word...
Thanks a lot both, Mike and Toritoribe, at my current level the one that make more sense for me was:
kanojoga iru toki dake, eigawo mini ikimasu. dakara kanojoto eigawo mini ikimasu
This one is still too advance for me:
Kanojoga iru toki dakeni shika eigawo mini ikanai kara,
eigakanni ireba...
Thanks Mike,
Thanks for your reply, I'm not well versed in reading kanji yet :( I was not able to read correctly your phrase, I have:
かのじょがいるときだけにしかえいがをみにいかないから,
(kanojoga iru toki dakeni shika eigawo minii kanai kara, )
えいがかんに いれば かならず そばに かのじょが いる
(eigakanni ireba kanarazu sobani kanojoga iru)
I also have that doubt about wa after kanojo, however, in this case, I used wa as emphasis particle not as topic marker. Not sure if it's right thought.
If you don't want to expend the money though, check the japanese from zero video series in YouTube, that's a progressive way to learn Japanese topic by topic. You will end purchasing books but for the moment you may start there.
Hi,
I'm trying to build a phrase with 2 verbs, I have not been able to come with the right answer, the phrase I'm working on is:
"Only when I have a girlfriend I go to the movies, so, I go to the movies with a girlfriend"
what I have is:
いつにかのじょはいますえいがにいきます。それから、かのじょといきます。
(itsuni kanojowa...
First, thanks for your reply,
Yes for eiga I tried to mean dvd or blu ray movies, so eiga is only in the movie theater then?
So basically, for the particle part of the question, using TO(と) or MO (も) after each word is almost the same the difference is that if I use MO(も) I must use (も) till...
I had a question in my exam:
anatano heyano nakani naniga arimasuka
My answer was:
beddoto teberimo motto honmo lampumo motto eigamo denwamo isumo futatsu konpyutamo sukaimo jitenshaga arimasu
But according with the teacher is wrong and should have been:
beddoto teberito motto honto lamputo...
