I get what you're saying and I'm not disagreeing, but I hope you noticed that I said this was also for fun. No one is posturing. This obviously isn't something I do on the reg.
All I'm interested in is how to say, "be my girl" or "do you want to be my girl".
Hi everyone,
I've been dating this wonderful woman from Japan, and I want to ask her to go steady. I know for many in Japan, officially asking this question is really important.
I'm pretty fit and have a take charge attitude, and she really like this about me so, both for fun and for romance...
Both of the below points were similar so my next reply is to you both:)
Thank you both for your input! This has been helpful. I also may have misspoke - I assume that you're both talking about annual household income, where I agree yes, making around 5 million yen a year puts you at the...
I live less in NJ, less than 15 miles from NYC. Near me, when you really stop to look at most areas it's just straight disgusting here. There are a few towns that are exceptions, but they're generally pretty wealthy areas. So in NJ/NYC $$$ = cleaner streets.
I just got back from Japan less than...
I like the idea of having 1 or 2 tatami rooms, rather than a whole house. I think having tatami floors also calls for the rest of the room to also be built with traditional architecture though, to elevate the feel and energy of the room to its highest potential.
From what I understand they're...
I wonder if this is consistent with all business though? I have a friend from America who was able to land a marketing job in Japan with a bachelor's and minimal experience. I'm sure opportunities exist, but I agree that the business practices might not sync up all that well. Like all jobs...
😅Very proud of this - Through perseverance, quick-adaptability, and a bit of good luck I was able to find work as a Corporate Trainer with a focus on software understanding and personal development. I enjoy what I do very much, but I think somewhere down the line I'll want to make a change...
Hi Everyone!
I'm heading back to school soon and was curious if anyone had input about which type of degree may give me an edge if I wanted to work in Japan -OR- work in a company that has close ties with Japan, but are based in the US.
I've narrowed it down to 3 options (all Bachelor's...
Hi Everyone!
We've returned from Japan (and the best trip of my life)! I wanted to just follow up to let you know how our gifting turned out.
For our girl friend we went with the nice bottle of wine and the homemade rice krispy treats. They both went very well! She and her fiancee had never...
I did some more research about wine popularity in Japan, and I actually found quite a few very recent articles (all from 2017) that talk about how wine is very "trendy" right now and is increasing in popularity.
Good to know if anyone else was curious! I posted a few article links below :)...
Behold... The power of the rice krispy treat!
One last question for now gang - Is wine a good gift idea? We have a nice bottle of merlot we'd like to bring, but maybe wine isn't popular in Japan as a rule? I can't think of any instances where I've seen it in pop culture (other than being drank...
We're going with the krispies, yes - but we're going to fancy them up. Presentation is key ~_^
We also have the local beer for my buddy, and we're going to grab a t-shirt for our girl friend. Maybe grab Godiva if there's time, but it's getting close to go time.
Thanks for all the replies guys, this has been helpful.
We've got everything pretty tied up at this point, but these were all great ideas. I was surprised/not surprised about the Godiva call out. We were thinking of bringing a bottle of wine, but Godiva has the same vibe :) Might do that!
