Setting Up Branch/Office For International Company and Visa Sponsorship

Thank you for the reply, Yes, I was hoping to get general advice to start, perhaps from someone who has done something similar before. Any further details would of course move off the forum into PM. Long story short, I would be changing companies, leaving my current employer (which my visa is...

Setting Up Branch/Office For International Company and Visa Sponsorship

Hoping to get some advice, perhaps from someone who has done something similar. I am currently in talks with my previous employer to explore opportunities to work for them in Japan. They do NOT have an office in Japan. I need to have my visa sponsored and remain in Japan. I currently have a 5...

Question Wanting to live in Naka-Meguro or surrounds - Recommended tips on finding housing

Thanks MDChachi, that's very helpful. They provided an agency, but it's external to the company and the guy said his english isn't great (so not boding well). I'm slowing learning/relearning the relevant kanji for all things rental, though my brain is WAY slower since I've been gone so long.

    Moving To Tokyo/Yokohama - Tips

Thanks for the reply mdchachi! That's good to know, I thought it was a requirement but would be easier just to sign. I've made the decision to live in Naka-Meguro or somewhere a little further along the Toyoko Line, as this is the best balance for getting to work and for getting into Tokyo. I...

    Moving To Tokyo/Yokohama - Tips

Apologies, I never got the alert for this! DOH! Thanks for the link, it seems there is something, though I don't imagine the company will give me that much for transport! The company said they would help me find a place, I'm still waiting for more (not moving till mid April). I don't know if...

    Moving To Tokyo/Yokohama - Tips

Thanks for the recommendation! This looks like a convenient location, and not far out of tokyo. I was just reading that Yokohama itself ranks very highly for living in Japan, perhaps that would also be an option for somewhere to live...

    Moving To Tokyo/Yokohama - Tips

True, I guess it is just hard to know what is in the area just based on google maps! Wish I could move there for a month beforehand, but that won't be possible. I didn't think you can get Shinkansen rail passes, can you? I could find nothing on this. It's a quick 18min ride by Shinkansen from...

    Moving To Tokyo/Yokohama - Tips

Hi All, I'm pretty excited to be moving to work near Shin-Yokohama next year. I previously lived in Kyushu a few years ago, and am now coming back to Japan. I know it is hugely general, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips/advice for setting up again in the big city? Questions I'd have...
